If you have branches in several cities, it is easy to end up with one Google campaign for the whole country. Then nobody knows which branch gets the leads, or what they cost. We run Google Ads for Utvendig Renhold in nine regions, and the numbers on this page come from there.

This is how we set up an account for a chain or a business with multiple branches.
Each region gets its own campaign with its own budget, its own ads (“Takvask i Trondheim,” roof cleaning in Trondheim) and its own line in the report. Then you can answer the branch manager who wonders why Bergen gets more budget than Oslo.
County lines rarely match driving distance. We set a radius around each branch based on where it takes jobs, and exclude areas nobody covers. If you also run Meta, both channels should use the same areas. For Utvendig Renhold, we mirrored the Google geography to the Meta zones in early September.
When two branches cover the same municipality, you have to decide who owns it. Otherwise it is random which campaign picks up the search, and the numbers per branch are wrong. For the Østfold campaign, we excluded Indre Østfold and Aurskog-Høland, which belong to the Oslo branch.
Local pages with the branch’s name and areas seem like an obvious move. We built 18 of them for Utvendig Renhold. Whether they give cheaper leads than a good national page is something we are testing now in a Google Ads experiment that started on September 9. Until we have the answer, we do not recommend them as a sure thing.
The budget per region should be set by what a lead costs there, and how many jobs the branch can handle. A new region needs a few weeks of data before the cost tells you anything. Østfold cost NOK 341 per lead in the first three weeks, on 9 leads.
Searches for the company name do not belong in the regional numbers. At Utvendig Renhold, a lead from branded searches cost NOK 47, versus about NOK 188 on average in the regional campaigns.

| Agder | NOK 164 | 12.7% |
| Innlandet | NOK 178 | 9.1% |
| Bergen | NOK 181 | 12.3% |
| Drammen | NOK 185 | 12.2% |
| Rogaland | NOK 190 | 11.8% |
| Møre og Romsdal | NOK 226 | 6.8% |
| Oslo | NOK 237 | 8.7% |
| Østfold (new, from August 14) | NOK 341 | 8.5% |
Utvendigrenhold, Google Ads, June 9 – September 6, 2026. Leads = submitted forms. For almost the entire period, all regions used the same national landing pages. Østfold started on August 14 and has only a few weeks of data. The full case study here.
